Warsaw is a city of contrasts, where modernism meets history, and western and eastern influences melt together. Only about 40% of the city inhabitants where born in here. Historical buildings often stand side-by-side with new skyscrapers. Just like this old, built before the II World War house at Sienkiewicza 4 street, in the city center. Over its closed messy backyard (popularly called a "well") one can see a shining blue skyscraper. Quite an extraordinary view.

Surprised? There are many places in our city that will make you stop dead. Under the "Spots" category you will find photos and short descriptions of spots worth seeing in Warsaw, that are often not easy to find.
If you have photos of interesting places around the Polish capital that you would like to show, send us them along with a short description of the spot/the situtation it was shot in. We will be glad to publish it on our blog and expand our original photo guide.

In the photo: Melman, giraffe from the "Madagascar" cartoon, surprised by the view of Palace of Culture (one of the city's best known buildings). The photo of the animal statue has been shot during the movie promotional event in Warsaw city center.
